Lizzie's Birthday
Yesterday was Lizzie's birthday. She turned 17. I mean 7. We had lunch with Nana and Papa after church and Lizzie got an iPod (actually, it's my old Nano loaded up with all of her favorite songs) and an iDog from us and lots of fun doll stuff from Nana and Papa.
Club Lizzie Lu
Lizzie had her Club Libby Lu party Saturday and it was loud and pink and girly.
There were eight girls (making me perhaps one of the biggest suckers that has ever crossed the threshold of the store?) who danced, pranced and primped for about two hours, culminating in several dances right in the entrance to the store.

First day of school
In the heat of August, the kids are back to school. Lizzie was up early. I think she may have slept with her backpack. Not really, but she was excited about the first day. Maury, on the other hand, was sleeping like a log when we had to rouse him. They both get on the bus at 6:40 (yikes) and poor Maury has quite a long ride because he goes to a different school now and has to get dropped off after she has run to his old school.
Maury is looking a little unnatural there. That is because he got a good fly by by some insect when I was trying to take his picture the first time. After that, he just wanted to stand with his hands on his ears. Which is precisely what he was doing when the bus arrived.

Birthday weekend and more
On Friday, we celebrated Nate's 2nd birthday. He had an awesome Shrek birthday party and I heard that Nate was up until midnight hanging with his friends. (We bailed at 10:30!)
We spent a good part of Saturday with Nikki and Nate. Thanks for the treat at the Tollhouse Cafe, Aunt Nikki!
After church on Sunday, we met Grandma and Grandpa at Applebee's to celebrate Lizzie's birthday.
The kids are sporting their spiffy Hawaii threads brought back to them by Nana and Papa from their vacation there. Mom and Dad have matching togs.
Then, the kids went to a back to school party at the church. They even had face painting. Maury went for the jack o'lantern look while Lizzie chose to be made up as a mouse.
