Why you don't give the student the rubric

This morning I found a sheet in Maury's backpack which had a rubric for a project he is to do. A rubric lays out what is to be done to score 100 AND what would get you other lower grades. I read out loud the 100 point column because, well, that tells what has to be done. Maury said after I finished, "I'm going for 70 points."
